Managing Director
Educated at Dunedin’s Kavanagh College, Tim subsequently completed a BComm. majoring in marketing and management at the University of Otago. After graduating, he headed to Australia and worked as the Sales and Marketing Manager for Beaches Backpackers in Hervey Bay. The following year he began his association with the financial services sector as a Futures Administrator with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia before working in Fixed Interest for Colonial First State.
From 2005 – 2008, Tim spent three years in Cape Town doing his OE and working in a number of hospitality roles, running his own gardening business and travelling.
On returning to Dunedin, he worked for Financial Planning Limited and in their New Zealand Home Loans business gaining experience in mortgage lending, and personal and general insurance. He also qualified as an AFA enabling him to advise clients on a broad range of investment products and KiwiSaver, in addition to risk insurance products.
Tim established his own business, Oliver Financial Planning Limited in 2013 and is a member of the Professional Advisers Association (PAA).
Philosophy
Tim’s passion and reason for being in the financial services industry is to help people understand how their money works and to get the best results for his clients and their families.
Personal
Tim is active in his community; he’s chairman and founding board member of his high school’s ex-pupils association; The Kavanagh Alumni Trust, coaches rugby and is a founding member of Dunedin’s BNI Aspire group.
Christine Veltman
Office Manager
Christine has worked in several industries; insurance, manufacturing, valuation and finance. She has completed a BCom at the University of Otago and is currently working on a BSc. Her focus all her working life has been on maintaining relationships with clients and making sure their needs always come first.
Christine worked in the financial sector from 2008 to 2013, as a mortgage and insurance adviser for Financial Planning Limited and NZ Home Loans.
At First Mortgages NZ, she runs the office and manages the administration side of the business.
Philosophy
Christine likes to be the educated helping hand to support families to realise their goal of owning their own home. Her belief is to keep things simple and get the best result for the people she helps.
Personal
Christine is involved in Scouting Otago with their bi-annual Gang Show and also works backstage for Musical Theatre Dunedin.
